Mrs. Victoria Clayton McCune, 64, Salt Lake Educator, L.D.S. Church worker and a daughter of Utah pioneers, died at a local hospital at 11:05 a.m. Friday of a nervous disease.
Mrs. McCune, the wife of Matt M. McCune, 2260 Lake Street, was born in Salt Lake, January 26, 1867, the daughter of the late William and Sarah Walters Clayton. Her father was at one time secretary to Brigham Young and came to Utah in 1847. He was an author of many of the L.D.S. church hymns.
Mrs. McCune was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and at one time was secretary for the organization. She served as president for more than 16 years of the Sixteenth and later of the Forest Dale ward Mutual Improvement associations. She received her education at the University of Deseret and later was a school teacher in the Salt Lake city schools. She also had been active in the Genealogical society of the church and was a temple worker.
She is survived by her husband, who is a brakeman for the Union Pacific railroad; two sons, and two daughters, Kenneth C. McCune of Ogden and W. Welby McCune of Salt Lake, Mrs. Frank J. McDonald, and Mrs. James R. McDonnel; and nine grandchildren, all of Salt Lake; two brothers, Alma C. Clayton, chief probation officer for the city school department, and Archer W. Clayton; and four sisters, Mrs. Lily C. Wolstenholme, and Mrs. Lucy Pepper of Salt Lake, Mrs. Addie Jenkins, and Miss Irene Clayton of Logan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Victoria Clayton McCune, 64, Salt Lake civic worker and active L.D.S. church member, who died at a local hospital Friday, will be held at the Forrest Dale ward chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Bishop George S. Spencer will officiate. E. F. Parry, Franklin S. Tingey, and Eugene M. Cannon will be the speakers.
"Come, Come Ye Saints," an L.D.S. church hymn composed by her father, the late William Clayton, will be sung by the ward relief society quartet.
Friends may call at the family home, 2260 Lake street, from 10 a.m. Sunday until time of services.
Interment will be in the City cemetery.
