Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed church at Orange City at 1:30 p.m. November 7 for John Kiel, 81, of Orange City, who died at the Orange City Hospital November 4.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Tjapkes and burial was made in the West Lawn cemetery.

Mr. Kiel was born October 30, 1889. He was married to Marie Huisman February 12, 1914, and farmed in the Orange City area until retiring and moving into town in 1952.

Survivors include six sons, Steven of Artesia, Calif., William of Hartley, Howard of Maurice, Clarence of Orange City, Raymond of Anaheim, and Vernon of Sheldon; five daughters, Mrs. Dick Addink and Mrs. Arend Wassink, both of Sioux Center, Mrs. Steven Hulstein of Hull, and Mrs. Henry Addink and Mrs. Orville Kroeze, both of Orange City; a brother, Hans of Alvord; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Wybenge of Bellflower, Calif., and Mrs. Sy Robyn of Tacoma, Wash.; 51 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
