Born in Franklin Township, he was a son of the late John E. and Hazel I. (Dick) Plank.
He was employed by Schindler Elevator in Gettysburg for over 30 years and was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army for six years including one tour in Vietnam.
His wife Janet L. (Seville) Plank departed this life in 2006 and he is survived by his two sisters, Shirley A. Rudisill of Gardners and Anna M. Shafer of Gettysburg; three brothers, James R. Plank of Gettysburg, Charles R. Plank of Biglerville, D. Earl Plank of Gettysburg; three godchildren, Kassandra C., Kelsey M., and Cheyanna L. Viands; and many nieces and nephews.
