John Plank Dies Thursday

John E. Plank, 65, Gettysburg R. 1, died Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Waynesboro Hospital where he had been a patient since Sunday.

Born in Adams County, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Viola (Plank) Plank. He was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church and was employed as a carpenter in the Gettysburg area for many
years until he suffered a stroke about four years ago.

His wife, the former Hazel I. Dick, died January 26, 1967. Surviving are 12 children:
Mrs. Glenn Adelsberger, Gettysburg R. 3; Dale J. Plank, New Oxford; Richard F. Plank, Biglerville R. 2; Mrs. Donald Shaffer, Gettysburg R. 3; James R. Plank, Gettysburg R. 1; Mrs. Donald Rudisill, Gardner's; Charles R. Plank, Fourth St., Biglerville; Earl D. Plank, Gettysburg R. 1; Arthur W. Plank, Gettysburg R. I; Ira L. Plank, Gettysburg R. 1; Mrs. Charlotte Shaffer, Bendersville, and Anna N. Plank, Gettysburg R. 1; 33 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; four brothers, Cletus R. Plank, Gettysburg R. 5; Landon Plank, Gettysburg R. 4; C. Chester Plank, 155 N. Washington St.; Clair B. Plank, Orrtanna R. 1: two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Kint, Gettysburg R. 3, and Mrs. Geraldine Wise, New York, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Monahan Funeral Home, Carlisle St., with his pastor. Rev. Dale L. Miller, officiating. Interment will be made in Oak lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday evening.
