Paul L Plank, 68, Gettysburg R1, a driver for the Centennial Cab Co., died suddenly Monday evening at his home. He had been under a physician’s care for some time.
He was born in Adams County, a son of the late Charles R and Virgie Plank Plank, and operated a garbage collection service in Gettysburg for 28 years prior to becoming a driver for the Gettysburg Transfer Co. HE was a truck driver for the C H Musselman Co., Biglerville, earlier in his life.
He is survived by his widow the former Elizabeth (Betty) Healey Plank. His first wife, Ellen Funt Plank, died a number of years ago.
Also surviving are these children, Charles A, Baltimore; Paul L Jr. and Mrs. Mary Shultz, Gettysburg R3; Mrs. Ruth Kelley, Gettysburg R1; Mrs. Eleanor Hoffman, Gettysburg R2; Mrs. Bertie Mae Wetzel, Seven Stars; 27 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The following brothers and sisters also survive; Howard, Hagerstown; John, Gettysburg R1; Landon and Clair, Biglerville R2; Cletus, Gettysburg R5; Chester, Gettysburg R4; Mrs. Helen Dubel, Thurmont; Mrs. Sara Keat, Mummasburg, and Mrs. Geraldine Wise, Oswego, NY.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Gettysburg.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at the Peters Funeral Home, Carlisle St. The Rev. Dr. Paul L Reaser, Pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be made in Flohr’s Lutheran Cemetery.
