Amos along with other men raised from Colonel Denny's Regiment for service at Rhode Island, with Captain Starr's Company, a Private Amos Parsons in a detachment from Captain Daniel Grout's Company, commanded by Lieutenant Thomas Parker, in Colonel John Rand's Regiment, enlisting July 24, 1780, at West Point, New York
