Loretta A. Koenig, age 94, of 1229 South 22nd Street, Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon, April 13, 2013 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center in Sheboygan Falls.

Loretta was born on July 10, 1918 in the town of Newton, daughter of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Baugniet) Bonde. She attended Kiel High School. On May 26, 1936 she married Elmer J. Koenig at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1977. Loretta helped run the family farm with her husband Elmer for many years until their retirement. She was a member of the St. Nazianz Senior Citizens, the St. Nazianz Historical Society, Pine Crest Historical Village, the Manitowoc Senior Center, and the Christian Mothers of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Survivors include five daughters and three sons-in-law: Mary Koenig, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, Patricia and Roger Thompson, South Windsor, CT, Janet Koenig, Manitowoc, Nancy and David Kilpatrick, Pinehurst, NC, Linda and Gary Huske, Nashua, NH; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Allan and Cecile Koenig, Rural Valders, Bernie and Diana Koenig, New Harmony, UT, John Koenig, Phoenix, AZ; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters: Frances Hutchison, Manitowoc, Marion Lenz, School Hill; two brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law: Alex and Rita Bonde, Rural Kiel, Donald and Margie Bonde, Newton, Virginette Bonde, Manitowoc, Betty Bonde, New Holstein. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one infant son: Leroy; four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Margaret Bonde, Irene and Alfred Stein, Rose Bonde, Marcella Bonde, Wilbert Hutchison, Robert Lenz; six brothers and three sisters-in-law: Norbert and Marie Bonde, Bernard Bonde, Odilo and Pauline Bonde, Theodore Bonde, Frederick and Katie Bonde, Roman Bonde.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Patrick Nelson. S.D.S with burial to follow at the St. Gregory Parish Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at St. Gregory Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
