David L. Heinbaugh, 76, Belle Fourche died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1930 in Belle Fourche to Frank Leslie Heinbaugh and Geraldine (Walton) Heinbaugh. He graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1948. He entered the United States Navy and spent six years in the Navy Reserve.

David married Orlene Heesch on June 6, 1953 in Brookings, S.D. He worked with his brother Jerry on the Heinbaugh sheep ranch North of Belle Fourche until 1979.
He was a member of the Butte Electric Board and the Rushmore Electric Board. He was also a member of the Masonic Cedar Lodge #124 and the Naja Shriners and was a member of the Western South Dakota Sheep Growers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Don Heinbaugh and Luverne Prather and brother-in-law, Reinhold Niesent.

Survivors include his wife, Orlene Heinbaugh of Belle Fourche; daughter, Kathy (Tim) Glines of Buffalo, S.D.; son, Scott Heinbaugh and special friend Jane Christofferson; two brothers, Bob (Shirley) Heinbaugh and Jerry (Gerry) Heinbaugh all of Belle Fourche; one sister, Patty Niesent of Spearfish and sister-in-law, Millie Heinbaugh of Spearfish and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007 at Kline Funeral Chapel in Belle Fourche with Reverend Pete Bonnichsen officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.

The family suggests memorials to the Belle Fourche Library and the Belle Fourche Masonic Lodge Building Fund.
