John worked as an electrician for Armco Steel Corporation for 31 years, retiring in 1994 and then started Snelling Electric, Inc. He was a veteran of the National Guard.
Mr. Snelling is survived by his wife, Linda K. (Sponsel) Snelling; sons, Brian (Rachel) Snelling and Mark (Mary) Snelling; brothers, Bill (Jean) Snelling, Jack Snelling, Eugene (Reed) Snelling, Larry (Kathy) Snelling and Michael (Shirley) Snelling; sisters, Betty Dearth, Kathy (John) James and Cheryl Snelling and three grandchildren, Lauren Snelling, Eric Snelling and Evan Snelling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas B. Snelling, Paul Snelling, Claude Snelling Jr., Rick Snelling and Donald Snelling; and sister, Eloise Snelling.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 10:00 am at Calvary Christian Center, State Route 127 & Jacksonburg Rd., with Pastor James Mullins officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
