Deseret News on Nov. 9, 2003. Obituary: Jay Kent Buehler, 2/8/1926 ~ 11/7/2003. Loving husband and father, Jay Kent Buehler, 77, returned to his Heavenly Father on November 7, 2003.He was born Feb 8, 1926, to Charles Edwin Buehler and Zelma Shaw Buehler in Midway, UT and graduated from Wasatch High School in 1944. On Dec 30, 1946, he married his high school sweetheart, Cleo Schooler. They later solemnized their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Kent also served two years in the military and graduated from the Univer-sity of Utah in 1951, with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering. During his career as a mining engineer he worked in both Colorado and Utah, and is credited with inventing and patenting a stemming machine that is widely used in the mining industry today. Kent was a devoted husband and father who is respected and loved by his family and friends. He was also an active and faithful member of the LDS Church, who radiated happiness and sunshine to all those around him. In his spare time he designed and built several homes in the Holladay area, had a passion for golfing, and had a God-given talent for capturing the beauty of the mountains and desert on canvas.

Preceded in death by son, Larry Edwin Buehler. Kent is survived by his wife, Cleo; children, Paula (James) Bywater, Jay (Rosemary) Buehler, Joyce (Jeff) Wilde, John (Claudia) Buehler, Carol (Davie) Winona; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchil-dren; eight sisters and two brothers. Services for Kent will be Wed. Nov 12, 12 noon at the Holladay 8th Ward, 5450 S. Holladay Blvd. Family and friends may visit 11 a.m.-12 noon Wed. Nov 12 at the Holladay 8th Ward. Interment, Midway, UT. The family offers their deep gratitude to the medical staffs at Cottonwood Hospital, Salt Lake Regional, Crossland Care Center and Dixie Regional Hospital for the care of their husband and father. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006, or www.lungsusa.org via the internet.
