IDA MESSMAN
Mrs. Ida Messman, 85, of 2906 Forest Ave., Two Rivers, died early Friday morning
at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient since the institution
opened a year ago.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Klein and Stangel, Inc. Funeral
Home, Two Rivers, and at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, the
Rev. T. F. Stern officiating. Burial will be in Pioneers’ Rest Cemetery, Two
Rivers.
Mrs. Messman, nee Ida Gierke, was born July 10, 1876 in the Town of Two Creeks,
a daughter of the late John and Wilhelmina Zierzow Gierke. She was married
June 8, 1901 in the Town of Mishicot to Fred Messman. They farmed in the Town of
Two Creeks until 1934, retiring to Two Rivers. Mr. Messman died March 11, 1953.
She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of St. John Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ottmar Pautz, of Two Rivers; two sons, Alfred and
Herbert, of Rt. 1, Two Rivers, 10 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
