Life's Reflections

Eisenhower Young Sr. was born August 29, 1946 in Sardis, Mississippi to the late Mildred Hill and Ernest Young. Eisenhower, affectionately called "Ike" by family and friends was one of six children born to this union.

Ernest and Mildred being Christians, reared Ike and all their children using the teachings of Jesus Christ. Ike accepted the lord at an early age.

Ike heavenly home going was preceded by his mother Mildred, father Earnest, siblings MacArthur, Ernestine (Ray),Andrea (Byers) Robert Jewell, and one son Tony Tibbs

Ike attended the St. Louis Public School District. He was a graduate of Charles Summer High School, Class of 1965. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served two years.

Ike was united in marriage to Laura Williams and to this union, two sons where born, Eisenhower Jr. and Shean.

Ike loved to dress, there was never a time you did not see him dressed from "Head to Toe" looking good as always. In 1974 he pursued his dream of fashion by opening a clothing store on Delmar and Union called Shean Ettienne's.

The time has come for my departure: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the Righteous judge will award me on that day.

On Monday October 31st 2016 Eisenhower Young Sr. received his wings and flew home to be with the Lord.

Ike leaves to cherish his memory: a special lady of 23 years ~ Lorraine Freeman; four sons Ike Jr., Ronald (Hawk), Leland and Shean; five daughters Jayme, Yolanda, Tarrus, Kimberly and Heather; one step daughter Cortney; two step sons Rodney and Ronald; 49 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; one sister Bernice Porter; great aunt Vernice Robinson; two sisters-in-law Charmaine and Peggy; a special friend Chip Barnes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

HE WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED.
