Henry was born to parents George Booth & Lizzie Kinchen-Pritchard-Booth on February 15, 1874 in Cass County, Texas. His parents were born in Alabama. They were married in 1868, in Davis County, Texas.

Cass County, Texas, was first Cass County, then was changed to Davis County. This named remained during the years 1861-1871; to honor Jefferson Davis. After 1871, in keeping with the Reconstruction period, they changed the name back to Cass County. His father George registered to vote in 1867 in Davis County. He stated he'd been in the County, and state for 7 years.

Henry married Mary McCary on October 24, 1895, in Cass County. He was 20 years old & Mary was 15, or 16. Records about her birth are conflicting. They had five children together. Four lived to adulthood. His children are:
