He married Freida LaQuier on 3/18/1946 at the Methodist parsonage in Harrisville, NY. She died on 11/2/1980.
A World War D Army veteran, he received the victory medal, and was a member of the Gouverneur American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was later employed as a sales manager at Kamargo's Furniture Store for 30 years, retiring in 1981. Mr. Mallette lived in Gouverneur all his married life.
Surviving were three sons, Robert Joseph, Michael, and Robert John; a daughter, Connie Mallette; four grandchildren; his mother; two brothers, Richard and William; and five sisters, Mrs. Wesley (Clara) Shelkowich. Mrs. Michael (Alberta) Jenks, Mrs. Max (Ruberta) Bresett; Mrs. Morris (Bonnie) Hart, and Mrs. Raymond (Laura) Sharpstene.
