anna laura (ando) was the daughter of lafayette francis vanBriggle and eliza ellen prather. she was a school teacher and i have a newspaper article stating that anna taught the noted author, dale carnegie. laura married charles b. shipps on june 29, 1898. she saw to it that her 5 children that lived to maturity, have a good education. all five graduated high school. and the three girls went on to college and became teachers themselves. her six children were Bernard keith (died young), hesterlynn, helen, thelma, seth and van shipps. she was a wonderful grandmother.
