Note: W. V. Ledley (NYGBR 94:37) states that Adriaen possibly married as his second wife, Catherine, and that he died intestate in Brooklyn in 1731. This is incorrect as evidenced by a deed of 17 Nov 1743 which states that Arie Bennet wrote his will 6 Oct 1742, and his wife, Barbara, was mentioned in it.


Elder of the Six-Mile-Run Dutch Church in Somerset County, New Jersey, although his children were baptized in the Freehold-Middletown Dutch Church. "Aurie" Bennet and his wife Barbara, marked "Removed," were listed as members of the Freehold-Middletown Church probably at its organization about 1709 (undated paper GMNJ 22:3).


He and Barbara Vonk were members of the at Reformed Dutch Congregations, Freehold and Middletown, Monmouth Co., New Jersey, circa 1710 (removed).

On 17 November 1743 Cornelius Bennet, William Bennet, Isaac Bennet, Agness Bennet, Catharine Bennet & Barbara Bennet, all living & surviving children of Arie Bennet, late of Middlesex Co., NJ, dec'd quit claim land to Arie Bennet, also another of Arie Bennet, Sr.'s children. Whereas, Arie Bennet, Sr., dec'd, was seized of a tr. of land in Middlesex Co., by deed from Coert Van Voorhees & Sarah, his wife, dated 10 Apr 1740, which beg. on n. side of Cranberry Brook by William Robinson's, by Thomas Wetherill's land, to land form. of Daniel Harcuts but now of James Wilson, being 400 a. And, whereas, sd. Arie Bennet, Sr. by his will dated 6 Oct 1742, devised the afsd. land to his wife Barbara, as long as she was his widow, and at her death, it was to go to his sd. son, Arie.
