Veronica (Ronnie) Kirchhof, 96, of Hardy, died peacefully Saturday, October 22, 2016. Born and raised in Marcellus, New York she was predeceased by her husband, Bill Kirchhof; parents, Edward and Caroline Hayes; her 14 brothers; and sisters and daughter-in-law, Theora Kirchhof. After moving to Westport Connecticut in the mid 1960's, mom worked for Pepperidge Farm. At retirement, she moved to Florida and then in mid 1990's relocated to Virginia. Left to cherish her practical and loving approach to life are her children Maggie (Tom) Gray, Hardy, Tom Kirchhof, West Palm Beach, Fla. Martha Kirchhof, Bridgeport Conn. and Peter Kirchhof, Randolph Vt. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Christopher (Tayo) Kirchhof, Coralyn Kirchhof, Brenda Gray and Holly Gray as well as great-grandchildren, Corrissa Springer and McKenzie Kirchhof. Ronnie is also survived by other family including countless nieces and nephews.The family gratefully thanks the staff of Runk&Pratt Senior Living Community at Smith Mountain Lake, for their loving care of mom for the past almost six years. Burial of Mom's ashes will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Marcellus N.Y. at a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount/ Smith Mountain Lake.
