Rex E. Benson, 94, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016. He is now rejoicing to be reunited with his eternal companion.

He was born in Moreland, ID to Alva Henry and Emma Lorena England Benson on March 12, 1922.

Rex married Lorna Parks on January 16, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. Lorna passed away on September 9, 2005. On July 22, 2006 he married Lois F. Tenney in Washington Terrace.

He served in the US Navy and worked in quality control for Hill Air Force Base.

Rex was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Lorna served a mission in North Carolina, he served as a Bishop, and was happy serving until he passed.

He was blessed to be talented in sports, drama, fixing and building anything.

Rex is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Rulon (Linda) Benson, Pamela Stanger, Lesa Benson, Yvonne (Harv) Larsen, Phyllis (Robert) Williamson, Marie Judkins, and Stephanie Ring; 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna Parks; children, Alva Henry Benson; Celia Horne; one brother and five sisters.

The family would like to thank Symbii Hospice, especially Shannon and Jessica for their special loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 5th Ward, 350 West 5100 South. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Moreland, ID.
