HANNA -- Sylvia Scriven, 96, of 17501 S. County Road 400 W., died at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Little Company of Mary Health Facility, San Pierre. Mrs. Scriven was a farmer and a former schoolteacher in the Hanna area. She was born Sept. 14, 1893, in Culver. On Dec. 21, 1913, in Hanna, she married Frank N. Scriven. He died Feb. 25, 1960. Surviving are three sisters, Clara Werner of Hanna, Ethel Flint of Mishawaka and Lucille Plunkett of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a brother, Kenneth Doll of Wanatah; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Hanna Methodist Church, the CVE and a charter member of La Porte County Farm Bureau and Merry Prairie Club.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wiesjahn Funeral Home, Wanatah. Burial will be in Hanna Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday and until services Saturday in the funeral home.
