Wm. C. Conkling,died at his home in Hawley, on the 23d, aged about 72 years. He was a native of Orange Co., N.Y., but had long been a resident of the above town, where he followed the mercantile business. He took an active part in all affairs looking to the advancement of the community in which he lived, and was in all respects a most useful, honest and industrious citizen. The funeral services were held on Monday. He leaves a wife and three children.
