James “Jim" L. Grubb, 80, of Lawrenceville, was called home by the Lord to be with his wife Carolyn on December 30, 2016 on the day they were married 55 years ago.

Born in Fairmont, West Virginia, he was a resident of Lawrence Twp. for 75 years. Jim served in the U.S.Army and loved being an American. Jim is a retiree of the NJ Turnpike Authority, where he was employed as a dispatcher for twenty five years. He was a devoted lifelong member and volunteer of American Legion Post# 414, having served in various roles as Past Post Commander, Color Guard member, Membership chairman and baseball coach for the Legion Baseball team. Jim was also a longtime volunteer and supporter of the ARC of Mercer. Some of his hobbies included having a “cold one” with his friends at Post #414, playing golf, coin collecting as well as collecting baseball memorabilia. Jim was also an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Jim will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Son of the late Lawrence and Alice Grubb, husband of the late Carolyn Marie Grubb; he is survived by his son James L. Grubb, Jr.; his daughter Michele Nelson; his granddaughter Amanda Leopardi; his brother Jerry Grubb; his sister-in-law Judi Muschal and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and one great-great niece.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 4-6PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. American Legion services will be held during that time.

Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
