Red Hook - Alice (Moms) Faherty died Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at her home. Born April 1, 1911 in Clifden, County Galway, Ireland. She was the daughter of the late Ellie & Thomas Mannion, and wife of 43 years of the late Thomas (Pops) Faherty. Alice grew up in Clifden and emigrated to America in 1929. She lived in Brooklyn before moving to Red Hook in 1985. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a member of the St. Christopher's Senior Citizens Organization and past president of Red Hook Senior Citizens. She is survived by her children, Maureen and her husband Bill O'Farrell of Red Hook, Thomas and his wife Fran of Brooklyn, Kevin and his wife Suzanne of Hillsbourgh, NJ, Walter of Red Hook, and Joanne Fiorillo and her late husband, Louis, of Red Hook. Her 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews also survive her. Alice's brothers, Patrick, Thomas, John, and Martin, and her sisters, Mary Kate, Margaret, and Ciss Edwards predeceased her. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00 AM on Monday, Sept. 27th, at St. Christopher's Church, 7411 S. Broadway, Red Hook. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
