Florence M. Sample, 97, of Auburn, passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at Eastland Retirement Community.
She was born Aug. 12, 1919 in Auburn, the daughter of James and Mabel Dupy MacMurdo. She married Paul Sample on Dec. 24, 1939 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1985. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Ramsey and Eileen Ensel and four brothers, Robert, Gerald, Alfred Owen and Don.
Florence graduated from Auburn High School in 1938. She was a former member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder.
She was a former member of the Auburn Woman’s Club and was a former election judge. Florence volunteered at Parks Memorial Home for several years.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
