Born in Auburn, Mr. MacMurdo was the son of the late James and Mabel Dupy MacMurdo. A retired coal miner after 17 years of service, Mr. MacMurdo owned the Bob MacMurdo Coal Yard for 20 years. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Gerald "Dick" MacMurdo.
He was a member of the Auburn United Methodist Church, Auburn Masonic Lodge AF&AM 354, Auburn Unit 10 School Board for 18 years and was past secretary of the Auburn Cemetery Board.
Surviving are his wife, Mary L. (Studebaker); three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Burton, Mrs. Beverly Jean Boyer and Mrs. Lee (Judith) Dodd, all of Auburn; one son, John of Auburn; three sisters, Mrs. Lee (Eileen) Ensel of Springfield, Mrs. Paul (Florence) Sample and Mrs. Jean Ramsey, both of Auburn; one brother, Donald "Jeff" MacMurdo of Springfield and 10 grandchildren.
