Mrs. Margaret Jane Minerva Harding passed away at her home in Pittsburgh October 1, of heart disease, after an illness of twenty-eight days.
Mrs. Harding was born September 14, 1862, the daughter of Anna (Ross) and Thomas Mitchell, being aged 67 years and 16 days at the time of death. About fifty years of her life were spent in the vicinity of Brookville. She was united in marriage in 1883 to Thornton S. Harding. To this union four children were born.
Her husband preceded her in death 34 years ago. The past 17 years she made her home in Pittsburgh with her son. She was a member of the Brookville United Presbyterian church until it was disbanded after fire demolished the church when she joined the Second United Presbyterian church of Wilkinsburg.
She is survived by one son, John M. Harding, of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Anna Harding Ague, of Sewickley; three brothers, James W. Mitchell, of Brookville, Albert B. and John E. Mitchell, of Greensburg; one sister, Blanche T. Miller, of Pittsburgh; and one granddaughter Anna Pauline Harding.
Funeral services were held at her Pittsburgh home Wednesday evening, October 2, conducted by Rev. T. D. Edgar. The remains were shipped to her brother's home in Brookville Thursday morning, were funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday October 4. Rev. Austin Rinken of the Brookville M.E. church and Rev. T. Edgar, of the Second United Presbyterian church of Wilkinsburg, conducted the services. Interment was made in the Brookville cemetery.
