Mr. John Edward BIlls Sr. was born on August 10,1950, to the union of Johnnie L. Bills and Rosetta Behn Bills in Paris, Texas. John was the oldest of seven children and the only boy. His family moved to Fresno,CA in 1954, where he received his education and religious training. He was a strong believer in God and he would let you know it, he would often carry his Bible with him. He was a retired upholsterer and loved working with his hands.
He had a great sense of humor and would always have you laughing. John had a love of music from an early age, especially the old school. Whenever he drove up to your home, you would always hear the sound of The Temptations, The Four Tops, Isaac Hayes and Marvin Gaye, just to name a few.
He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He Will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
On Monday, August 15th, 2016 God came and said it's time for rest. He was 66 years old.
He is preceded in death by His father, Johnnie Lee Bills, his mother, Rosetta Behn Bills, three (3) older siblings who passed in infancy, one younger sister, Betty Jo Jackson of Fresno, and niece, Dorothy Faye Brown of Los Angeles.
His memory is left with his wife, Theresa Bills of Fresno, two (2) sons, John Edward Bills Jr. of Los Angeles and Domenic Bills of Fresno, three (3) daughters, Antranette Bills Garret of Cincinnati, OH, Tasha Bills of Phoenix AZ, and his former wife, Barbara Jones Bills-Smith of AZ.
He also leaves behind five (5) sisters, Helen Reed, JoAnn Milburn, Wanda Ford, Rosemary Brown and Magaline Lamar all of Fresno, CA; 1 aunt, Jennie Wesley of Los Angeles, and Peggy Littlefield, a very close cousin, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends and loved ones.
