Johnnie Lee Bills of 805 5th NW, died Sunday, June 23, in the Veterans Hospital in Dallas. Services were held Saturday, June 29, at the Ebenezer AME Church with the Rev. Joe Robbins officiating. Burial was in Piney Cemetery in Talco under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.

Mr. Bills was born in Lamar County, son of John Bills and Ola Cooper Bills. He attended Lamar County schools and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. He was bass singer with the Wayside Travelers Quartet and a veteran of WW II, serving in the Navy.

Surviving are his wife, Sarah; five sons and six daughters, John of Fresno, CA, Randy of Jackson, SC, Raymond, Johnnie Ray and Jerry of Paris, Helen Arrington and JoAnn Milburn of Fresno, CA, Sybil, Cheryl, Patricia and Sherree, all of Paris; one brother, Edward Turner, Jr. of Paris; two sisters, Christine Baldwin and Lena Mae Embry of Paris; and 14 grandchildren.
