Survivors include his wife, Vida Jessie Cagley; three sons, Lyle, Bloomington; Charles, Champaign; and Donald, Heyworth; one daughter, Beverly Owen, Bloomington; one brother, Henry Cagley, Streator; one sister, Ruby Klein, Long Point; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two brothers, five sisters and two grandsons.
Mr. Cagley was born Dec. 17, 1905, in Knoxville, Tenn., a son of George W. and Martha Catherine Dixon Cagley. He married Vida Jessie Erdman Feb. 16, 1931, in Colfax. Mr. Cagley, a retired farmer, farmed in the Shirley area for 40 years. He also served as a deputy sheriff in the McLean County sheriff's office for 20 years.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and a former member of the State Sheriffs Association, McLean County Protective Association and the Farm Bureau.
