Warren Times-Mirror and Observer, Saturday, Aug 2 1969:
George E. Smith, 87, of 320 College St, Youngsville, died in Warren General Hospital at 10:15 pm Friday, Aug. 1, 1969, after being admitted to the hospital for treatment July 28.

He was a retired employee of the National Forge Co., Irvine.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the McKinney Funeral Home, Youngsville.

Services for George E. Smith, formerly of Franklin, were held Monday afternoon in St. Francis' Episcopal Church, Youngsville, with Rev. William C. Wilbert officiating.

He died Friday in the Warren General Hospital following a short illness. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. George Anderson of Youngsville; three grandchildren; a sister, Louise; and a brother, Laurence J. Smith; both of Franklin.

Interment was made in Franklin Cemetery.
