Cartoonist. He trained at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. He adopted the name "Maurice Ketten." His art was first printed in the Denver Post. His work was later featured in New York City newspapers and periodicals. He drew political cartoons, and had more than one successful comic strip series in syndication. "Can You Beat It?" was his most popular series. It appeared in newspapers from 1907 to 1934. Some of his other cartoon series were "Such Is Life!," and "Poor Little Income." The everyday foibles of married life were a frequent subject of his humor. His wit also took gentle aim at the social movements and popular culture of his era.
