Nickie Huffman, a lifelong resident of McCloud, passed away December 21, 2016 at the age of 86 in her daughter's home with family members by her side.



Nickie was born in McCloud to Giovanni and Constantina Vanzin on November 29, 1930. She attended McCloud Elementary and McCloud High, graduating in 1948. Nickie became a Nurses Aid at McCloud Hospital where she met her husband, Jack Huffman, who was a patient there. They were married February 23, 1952 and began their 54-year journey together. Nickie and Jack raised 3 children, Jackie (Dennis), Connie (Darrell †), and Leon (Karen †). After the McCloud Hospital closed, Nickie worked at various hospitals in the area, then switched to the lumber business until her retirement in 1992.



Nickie loved her family, her friends, her church, and her hometown. All were welcome at her kitchen table and countless memories were made there. She will be greatly missed by many, but will be reunited with her one true love, Jack.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lorenza (Dave †), her husband, Jack, and their firstborn child, Chet. She is survived by her sister Elvira Mazzei (Joe), her 3 children, her 8 grandchildren, her 12 great grandchildren, and her numerous nieces and nephews.
