Mr. Richard Junior Adkins, age 72 of Ider died Thursday, July 15 at his residence. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM CDT in the chapel with Bro. Joe Owens and Bro. Jimmy Carl Ball officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM CDT Friday and 9 AM until service time on Saturday.

Survivors include, wife, Polly Matthews Adkins, daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Adkins Dobbs and Sam, Fort Payne, sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Donna Adkins, Ider John L and Esther Adkins, Gulfport, MS., sisters, Lona Mae Albertson, Edna Ray Burson, Ider, Merle Lucille Lavelle, Clarks, NE, grandchildren, David Adkins, Daniel Dobbs, Chris Talley and Craig Talley, great-granddaughter, Layla Adkins.

Mr. Adkins worked as a policeman, had driven a school bus and semi-truck and was a member of Ider Ashlar Lodge and Ider Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Enoch S. and Ada Lou Boydston Adkins, brothers, Lee Conard Adkins, Authur Martin Adkins, Herman William Adkins, Jesse Calvin Adkins, sister, Marie Close, granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Dobbs and mother-in-law, Nora Wynn Matthews.
