The 1850 Jackson, Allen, Ohio census records Jacob as age 6 with John M. & Sarah Wilson and 11 other young Wilsons, 7 older and 3 younger. Lewis was age 23; William, 19; George, 17; John, 15; Susannah, 13; Dianna, 11; Samuel, 9; James, 8; Thomas, 4; Nancy, 2; & Mary, an infant. William Wilson, age 71, born in Pennsylvania, was also with the family.

This family resided in Peoria, Franklin, Kansas Territory in the 1860 census with the additions of M. M. Wilson, 8; F. M. Wilson, 6; & S. M. Wilson, 4.

There is a 6 Mar 1866 Platte County, Missouri marriage record for Mr. Jacob Wilson and Miss Katie Wilson. Jacob & Katie resided with Jacob's mother, Sarah Wilson, 68, in the 1880 Carroll, Platte, Missouri census. John J. was age 12 and Alonzo W., 10.

The 1905 Linwood, Sherman Township, Leavenworth County, Kansas state census records the Civil War service of Jacob Wilson in Co. D, 12th Kansas Infantry. The 1910 census also records that he was a survivor of the Civil War.

The Civil War Soldiers Records and Profiles file from Ancestry shows that Jacob Wilson of Stanton, (Miami County) Kansas, enlisted in April of 1863 in Co. D, 12th Kansas Infantry and mustered out in June of 1865 at Little Rock, Arkansas.

The 1900 census records Jacob's birth in September of 1843 in Ohio. His father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother was born in Ohio.
