Edward was the son of August Wilt and Mary Gebhart. On 16 May 1922 he married Mary Fendley and they had eight children: George, William, Lawrence, Mary, Anna, Richard, Edna and Jerald. He was a retired employee of the old Oertel's Brewery. Edward died of a heart attack at his home, 240 N. Pope Street, at the age of 66.
