Born circa 1665 at Gowanus, Kings Co., New York.


Married Ariaentje Van de Water, daughter of Hendrick Van de Water and Grietje Van der Meulen, at Reformed Dutch Church, New York City, New York, on 15 December 1686 (Banns 26 Nov 1686).

Willem owned and occupied what was later known as the Garret Bergen farm at Gowanus. He took the oath of allegiance there in 1687.
