EDINBURG - Manuel Cavazos Sr., 86, died Thursday night at McAllen Medical Center.
Born in Mexico, he had lived in Edinburg since 1913. He was a retired rancher.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jususita Cavazos in 1981.
Survivors include five sons, Cayetano, Virgilio, (Pete), and Manuel Cavazos Jr. all of Edinburg, Eligio Cavazos of Tennessee and Jose Cavazos of Northwood, Va., three daughters, Mrs. Marin (Elida) Alvarado, Mrs. Alonzo (Lupita) Vega and Mrs. Ralph (Juanita) Garza all of Edinburg; 35 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Juan A. Cavazos of Tampico, Mexico.
Services will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
