The funeral service for Mr. Neal Cisaro Kilgore, 91, of Anniston, will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Parker Memorial Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Mack Amis officiating.

Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.

Mr. Kilgore passed away on February 9, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Kilgore was a native of the Anniston area.

He served his country with honor in the US Navy during World War II.

He was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church and was also a Baraca Sunday School class officer for many years.

He retired in 1984 after 29 years of service to the Anniston Fire Department.

He owned Kilgore Realty Company for 12 years and retired from the real estate profession in 1987.

He was also the owner of Midtown Ceramics.

He ran for Anniston City Council in 1988 without success.

He was also a foster parent for 10 years.

Mr. Kilgore was the son of Mary Frances Nolen Kilgore and Henry Jack Kilgore and was the last surviving member of his brothers and sisters, Bama Beatrice Owens, James Clifford Kilgore, Alma Grizzard, Jackie Mae Cook, and Robert Garfield Kilgore.

Survivors include, along with several nieces and nephews, his wife of nearly 40 years, Doris Pugh Kilgore, of Anniston, formerly of Evergreen;

A sister-in-law, Nelda Pugh Stephenson;

A brother-in-law, Ralph Allen Pugh;

A son, Marvin Neal Kilgore;

Step daughters, Letitia Edwards and Rebecca Hill and her husband, Delbert Hill;

A grandson, Robert Brian Kilgore and his wife, Jenee Kilgore, and their daughters;

A granddaughter, Hannah Kilgore;

And step granddaughters, Heather Hester and her husband, Anthony Hester and their daughters, and Mikinzi Edwards.

Pallbearers will be Tommy George, Darrell Curvin, Ray Whiteside, Delbert Hill, John Baker, and Brian Kilgore.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Baraca Sunday School Class and Firemen from the Anniston Fire Department.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Kindred Hospice and their staff members, Jennifer Smith and Dawn Burkette.
