DEATHS
Caroline M. Winterhalter
Mrs. Caroline M. Winterhalter, 87 years of age, passed away on Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clara Marx, of Farmington, after three weeks illness resulting from a stroke.
Mrs. Winterhalter was born in Toledo, Ohio, on November 28, 1860 and was married there. When their son frank was 14 years old the family moved to Milford where they bought the farm located on the present Proud lake state recreation area. Mrs. Winterhalter lived there for 36 years, and finally sold the place to a Detroit club, of which Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Oesterle were caretakers until the Huron-Clinton Authority bought the land. For the past nine years Mrs. Winterhalter has been living with her daughter at Farmington.
Besides her daughter Clara, she is survived by two sons. Frank and Phillip, both of Milford: eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A rosary service is being held at the Heeney funeral home at 8:45 this Friday, and the funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday in My Lady of Sorrows church,
Farmington. Burial will be at St. Marys cemetery, Milford.

Notes by C. Krueger : In researching the Winterhalter family in the Milford Times, I came across an article printed on the same date as her obituary telling of the snow storm that crippled the area of Milford. People being stranded on roadways and having to leave their cars and trudge great distances to get out of the storm.
