James (Jim) Bloom died on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Arbor Terrace in Rochester, Minnesota. Jim was born on March 1, 1941 to Joe and Rose Bloom. He grew up and attended school in Rose Creek, Minnesota. On June 15, 1963 he married Joann Hathaway. They made their home in Grand Meadow and together raised two sons. Jim owned and operated Bloom Trucking in Grand Meadow for many years. Following that, he drove for Ferguson Trucking. Driving truck was his passion as was racing, which he did for many years as well.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joann of Rochester. Two sons, James, Jr. (JJ) of Rochester and Jerry (Sarah) of Rochester. There is nothing more that Jim took pride in than his 4 grandchildren, Tony (Mary Byler and her daughter Preslie); Hannah (Travis) Trefz, Elizabeth and Mariah. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Darrell (Karen) Bloom and Donny (Jean) Bloom and 2 sisters Pat (Marvin) Miner and Joan Hegge. Jim also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 2 brother-in-laws.
