She was born Sept. 28, 1913, to Henry and Elizabeth (Dingle) Buchan in Sibley, Iowa. She married Joseph Bloom on Oct. 20, 1931, in Slayton, Minn. They made their home in Rose Creek. Rose was employed by Hormel Foods for 28 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and sewing quilts.
Survivors include three daughters: Patricia (Marvin) Miner, Rose Creek; Joan (Phillip) Hegge, Rose Creek; Charlotte Wood, Plainview, Minn.; three sons: Darrell (Karen) Bloom, Austin; Donald (Jean) Bloom, Grand Meadow, Minn.; James (Joanne) Bloom, Grand Meadow; 23 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Laura Gohman, Cambridge, Minn.; and Shirley Buchan, Dodge Center, Minn.; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son-in-law; five sisters; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin, with The Rev. Ruben Spinler officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery, Austin. ****************************************
