Trese Zehr, 83, formerly of Morton and Pekin, died Tuesday, June 27, 1995, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria County.

Born Dec. 17, 1911, in Aurora, Neb., to Fred H. and Signe Nelson Stuart, she married Don E. Zehr on Oct. 19, 1930, in Belleville, Kan. He died April 4, 1978. She also was preceded in death by one brother, and one sister.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Rick (Teddy) Corbin of Pekin; four sons, Jim of Springfield, Grady of Winfield, Jerry of Manchester, Iowa, and John of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. George (Betty Jane "Billie") Vinson of Pekin and Thelma Waltman of Thornton, Colo.

She taught piano and organ for 30 years.

She and her husband farmed in Nebraska and Iowa for 41 years. She later operated Zehr's Resort on Nelson Lake in Hayward.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
