Things can change in an instant, and we were reminded of that yesterday. While Ron and I were on our way home from a celebrating a wonderful weekend away, we learned that our tiny baby Ellie suddenly and unexpectedly slipped away and crossed over to Rainbow Bridge. We have a lot of questions, but not many answers. We rescued Ellie 2.5 years ago off Craig’s List just to get her to safety, never intending to keep her and to find a loving forever home for her, but she stole our hearts on the drive home from picking her up. She quickly became the tiniest, but liveliest member of our family and we loved her so very much. She added so much to our lives and made us laugh every single day. She was incredibly unique, so special, and had the funniest personality that we adored. Our home is so quiet now, and our hearts are broken into a million pieces. Not sure how we’ll heal from this one . . .
Ellie was a mouthy, tiny bundle of energy that if you could wait out the barking, was the sweetest, funniest friend you could ask for.

She was spending the weekend with Grandma while her parents spent the weekend in Jeckel Island for "Mom's" birthday. She had a normal happy morning, jumped off the couch and got in her kennel to sleep and died. We have no idea what could have happened. It broke our hearts to loose this little 4 pound fawn colored sweetie, especially her "Dad" who, for the first time, had a dog that loved him best.
