Amalia was born in Anton (now called Sadovoe), Saratov, Russia in 1891. She came with her parents to Winnipeg, where they lived for a few years. They then moved to the Stornoway area. In 1910 she married Jacob Liebrecht. The couple farmed and raised their family SW of Rhein. They owned and operated a restaurant in Rhein from 1954 to 1956. Jacob and Molly had 8 children: Albert, Theodore, Lydia, August, Irene, Richard (Elsie Shewkenek), Alice (Steve Horwath), and Violet.
