Private Services Set for Tomorrow
Private services for Bert L. Atwater, 87, of the Drake hotel, associated with Wm. Wrigley Jr. company, gum manufacturer, since 1907, and a vice president and director for many years, will be held tomorrow in Graceland cemetery chapel. He died Monday.
Mr. Atwater was engaged by the late William Wrigley Jr. to head sales activities in the eastern territory as manager of the New York office.
Named Officer in 1915
He was elected second vice president in 1915, a director in 1916, and vice president in 1920. In 1932 he was transferred to the Chicago headquarters.
In December, 1951, Mr. Atwater retired as vice president. At that time he was elected board chairman of the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, Ltd., the Canadian affiliate, in addition to continuing as a director of the parent company.

Surviving are his widow, the former Blanche Cox, daughter of the late A. G. Cox; a son, A. G. Atwater, vice president of Wrigley company, and two daughters, Helen, wife of Philip K. Wrigley, president of Wrigley company, and Olive, wife of George Getz Jr.

Private services for Mrs. Helen Blanche Wrigley, 75, widow of chewing gum magnate and Chicago Cubs owner Philip Knight Wrigley, will be held Thursday morning in her Lake Geneva, Wisc. home. Mrs. Wrigley who lived at 1500 North Lake Shore Drive, suffered a heart attack shortly after her husband death April 12 and died Monday in Lakeland hospital, Elkhorn, Wisc. She is survived by a son William, two daughters Mrs. Ada Schreiner and Mrs. Dorothy Chauncey; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Olive Getz, and a brother A. G.
