George was the eldest known child of Rev. John B. McQueen and his 3rd wife Elizabeth Ann Witsman. He married Susan H. Clark Weaver 18 Sep. 1875 in Douglas Co.,IL. The story is they moved to Moberly, MO and were living there in 1876. Susan was 6 months pregnant with their daughter Vina May. He was known as a huckster, something to do with harvesting. They went to town one day and he got in to an argument with a neighbor. After he and Susan returned home, she had gone into the house and he was getting ready to put the horses up when someone shot him. The horses never moved, and unfortunately George died. Susan returned to her parents home in Champaign, IL where she had their daughter. It is not know for sure he is buried here, but there is a lot of family here so may be.
