Ronald “Sonny” Dean Bach, 69, of Red Wing, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Red Wing Health Care Community.

He was born May 9, 1947, in Red Wing, to Melvin and Irene (James) Bach. He grew up in Bay City and attended school in Ellsworth. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War until being honorably discharged. On November 28, 1970, he married Eileen Rosener and they lived in Red Wing. Ron started working at Riviera Cabinets in 1972 where he worked until his retirement when they closed in 1994. He then worked at Treasure Island Resort & Casino for a short time. He enjoyed family picnics, boating on the river, keeping Eileen happy, watching westerns, making and refinishing cabinets and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post #54.

Ron is survived by his wife, Eileen; two children, Randy Lee Bach and Kelly Bach both of Red Wing; three grandchildren, Devin Luedtke and Tiffany and Alexa Howard; nine siblings, Catherine (Roger) Thomas of Frontenac, Marlene (Bruce) Hanson of Frontenac, Rita (Jim) McCarthy of Hastings, Robert (Beverly) Bach of Bay City, Mary Jo (Gabe) Andrus of Bay City, Peter (Jeanie) Bach of Red Wing, Charley Bach (Chieanne Bartholomew) of Bay City, Margaret Bach (Dan Peterson), and Tammy Hoyer (Dave Jones); many nieces and nephews and one aunt, Lorraine Nelson of Red Wing. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Toby Bach and Bill Bach; nephew, James Jennings and a great niece, Ashley Simons.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with the Reverend Deborah Anderson officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
