Harry was born July 19, 1929, in Spring View, Neb., to the home of Ethel and Charles A. Strain. He died Thursday evening, Jan. 25, 2007, in Clovis. He moved to Elida in 1959 where he ranched for several years. Later, he moved to a ranch in Dora. He had been retired for several years. Harry accepted Jesus and was baptized at a Baptist Church in Clovis in 1998. His passion was dancing and he loved being a cowboy. In recent years he enjoyed playing golf with several friends.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mack and Cherryll Strain, of Lubbock, Texas and Chuck and Annie Jean Strain, of Portales; four grandchildren, Michelle Dodson, Chris Strain, Matt Strain and Stephen Strain; and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vonna and Lee Wall, of Amarillo, Texas and Viola Kounovsky, of Paris, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jean Strain and Donna Adcock.
