Miss Mattie Burnett, 68, died at home at Chicota, about 9:30 o'clock Wednesday morning April 11, 1951, after an attack of illness. Mattie died of Acute Heart Failure and High blood pressure. She and Miss Janie Whitesides made their home together at Chicota. Miss Burnett, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Burnett, was born in Belk community, Aug. 9, 1882. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Eva Lacroix, Soper, OK, and nephews, M. M. Dickson, Conway, and Simon Angel, Stonewall, OK.; besides a niece and grandniece, Mrs. Flora Kenjorski, Nanticoke, PA., and Glenda Whitaker, Chicota, both of whom she reared. The funeral will be held Friday April 13 at 3 p.m. at Post Oak - Belk community center. The Rev. J. Wideman, Baptist minister, will officiate and Brown-Roden Funeral Home will made burial in W. Post Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Webster Clay and these nephews; Carl Dickson, Amarillo; Burl Dickson, Conway; Earl Dickson, Arnett, OK.; Elmer Whitaker, Paris; and Harrison Burnett, Hugo, OK.
