Mr. Lewis of Hartford,Iowa died of a heart ailment and pneumonia Sunday at Des Moines General Hospital in Des Moines. Mr.Lewis,a retired night foremen for the Iowa Regional Transit Corp.was born in Des Moines,Iowa and lived here most of his life before moving to Hartford about nine months ago.

He was a member of Auburn Masonic Lodge,Stover Memorial Church of The Brethren and Amalgamated Transit Union Division 441.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife,Edna;three daughters, Mrs.Kathleen Godwin of Corydon,Mrs.Winifred McDonough of Des Moines and Mrs.Darlene Mitchell of Dundee;three sisters,Mrs.Ada Riddle,Mrs.Mamie Burger and Mrs.Leona Westberg,all of Des Moines;a brother,Clifford E.Lewis of Norwalk,California.,15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents,Oscar Ely Lewis and Ethel Amy Steele Lewis and a brother, Glen H. Lewis.
