Bremerton, Wash.- Leona L. Smith-Westberg, 88, of Bremerton died of a heart ailment Tueday at Bremerton Convalescent Center. Services will be at 1 P. M. Saturday at Hamilton's funeral home in Des Moines with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery there.
Leona Lewis-Smith-Westberg, a homemaker, was born in Lake Park,'Des Moines', Iowa and formerly lived in Des Moines for 75 years.
Leona married Cleo Smith July 2,1927,in Bethany, Missouri, and was married for 23 yrs. Cleo died September 25, 1950. She married Carl Westberg September 2, 1961. Carl died December, 11,1969.
She is survived by two daughters. Beverly Harker of Longwood, Fla, and Betty Romick of Bremerton, Wa., a step daughter, Sheila Burton, a brother, Clifford Lewis, and a sister Mamie Burger, all of Des Moines, nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 P.M. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
Leona was a Red Cross voluteer worker in Des Moines, Iowa, folding bandages for the wounded men, during WW2.
